 Famous Person Search
Using netTrekker d.i.'s Famous Person Search, you can quickly and easily
locate information about well-known people, including political leaders, athletes,
scientists, artists, writers, and more.
To perform a Famous Person Search, click "Famous Person"
from the Features toolbox, located at the right of the page. Your results
will reflect which section you begin your search in; e.g. if you search from
Elementary netTrekker d.i., you will receive Elementary Famous Person results.

Famous Person Search enables you to focus your Search
Results to include only sites that contain information about the famous
person of your choice.

Search by Name
Enter a name in the Name box. This can be a full name, just a last name,
or even just a first name. This will produce a list of Famous People who
have that name.

Create a Famous Person List
Generate a list of famous people based on your own criteria. Place a check
in each box that fits your requirements in the categories of Gender, Time
Period, Occupation/Profession, Ethnic/Cultural Heritage. You may check
more than one box in each category. You may also leave all boxes unchecked
in a category.
Once you generate a list of famous people, you can click on
any name on the list to get a Search Result page.

Let's say you are at the Subject Search
page in High School netTrekker d.i.. If you click on Famous Person
in the Features toolbox, enter "Martin" in the Name
box and click  ,
you will receive a list of more than 10 famous Martins found in
netTrekker d.i.. Some of these "Martins" are first names,
some middle and some last.

You will also note that there is a Timeline icon ( )
next to some of these names. Click on
to go to a Timeline based on the dates of this famous person's
life.

If you have a particular category, but not a particular
person in mind, use the "Famous Person Filter"
feature.

Let's say you are interested in American women authors of
the 18th century. Just click on the boxes next to "Female,"
"18th Century," "Authors/Writers," and
"American." Then click .
Click on any of these names to go to a Search Result
page about that person.

If you want Eastern European Philosophers, regardless of gender
or time period, click only the boxes next to "European
[East]" and "Philosophers" but do not put checks
in any boxes in the Gender or Time Period columns. Then click
.
Click on any of these names to go to a Search Result page
about that person.

If you wish, you can save any of your Famous Person lists into your Portfolio by clicking on the  button.
