Working together, we developed a comprehensive, state of the art alignment process that utilizes human review and sophisticated proprietary automation techniques, allowing us to deliver true standards-based resources that support your state or provincial standards to the benchmark/learning outcome level.

Note To change your default state or province, learn how to Edit Your Preferences.

netTrekker d.i. provides easy access to Standards for all states, Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario. Your default state or province is the one you selected when you registered as a netTrekker d.i. user. However, you may access the standards for any state or province as well by clicking on the state or province name at the bottom of the Standards page.

Here's how to perform a Standards Search:

  • Access Standards
Click on the Standards tab on the top of any netTrekker d.i. page. netTrekker d.i. will display a new page that provides the standards for your state or province.
  • Subject Search or Keyword Search
You can perform either a Subject Search by drilling down through your standards, or perform a Keyword Search from the top. Your search will result in a list of grade-, subject-, and detail-specific standards to choose from. Click on a detail-specific standard to view all the particulars. Content will include numerous web resources in netTrekker d.i. which explore different aspects of the standard.

    Example of a Detail-Specific Standard:

  • Getting a Search Result
From the detail-specific standard, click on one of the "Web Resources in netTrekker d.i." keywords to immediately view a Search Results page.

Example of "Web Resources in netTrekker d.i." Keywords:

This Search Result page lists the links to websites which most closely match the keywords you selected. Each website listed has been rated and briefly described by an educator.

    • User Defined Keyword Search

Below the Web Resources in netTrekker d.i. for any standard is the "User Defined Keyword" box. This is another method of finding web resources for a standard. You may think of additional keywords not listed under Web Resources. If so, use this box provided to generate a Cross Curricular Search page.

Example of User Defined Keyword Box:

    • Viewing a Website
Click one of the links on the Search Result page to go to that website. Note that the site opens in a different window so that you can keep the netTrekker d.i. Search Result page available.

If your Standards Search resulted in more than one page of Search Results, use the page number links or "next >" and "< previous" links at the bottom of the Search Results page to move from page to page.

      Other Standards Features
In addition to selecting the Standards button at the top of any netTrekker d.i. page, netTrekker d.i. has also provided a way to access standards through a Search Results page.

    • This Standards button appears on each Search Results page. When clicked, this button will produce a list of your state's or province's standards, whether elementary, middle or high, that correspond to your search.
